Slipknot will play at Iowa State Fair 2019. The event will take place in their hometown of Des Moines on 10 August.
We already knew that Slipknot would be back in 2019. Their first gig in 2019 has just been confirmed, and it is going to be a massive event. Iowa State Fair is one of the largest state fairs in the United States, with over a million visitors per year.
A few months ago, Corey Taylor gave an interview with Heavy Music Interviews, in which he confirmed that he will work with Slipknot in 2019. Later this year in June, he announced in Kerrang! that the metal icons had written some new material: “We have 16 songs written right now, and they are fucking dangerous. […] It’s only the demo stages right now, however, we have very serious, tentative plans to go into the studio at the beginning of next year and get this fucking going.”
Therefore it would not be unrealistic to expect some other tour dates around the world, including summer festival, shows like Rock am Ring or Download Festival, where Slipknot are strongly rumoured to headline.
