Blues zit in genesteld in Grolloo. De legendarische Nederlands bluesband Cuby & the Blizzards, met onder andere de bandleden Harry Muskee, Eelco Gelling en Herman Brood, is hier ooit ontstaan. Geen logischere plek om op het kerkplein van Grolloo het Blues Festival van Nederland te houden, genaamd Holland International Blues Festival.

Ondanks maar één podium, hebben de grootste blues artiesten er al gestaan. Buddy Guy, ZZ Top, Jeff Beck en Joe Bonamassa hebben al hun in treden in Grolloo gemaakt. Festivaldirecteur Johan Derksen, zelf ook woonachtig in Grolloo, kan trots zijn op de blues geschiedenis die dit festival sinds 2016 heeft voortgezet in Blues Village Grolloo.
